Bio

Dr. Oliver is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Professor of Psychology and Practical Theology and holds the Gary J. Oliver Endowed Chair of Marriage, Family & Relationships at John Brown University. He is also a Clinical Member & Approved Supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).  He also serves on the Executive Board of the American Association for Christian Counseling (AACC).  

 

For 24 years he served as the Founding Executive Director of The Center for Healthy Relationships.

His 5 earned degrees include an M. Div. from Talbot Seminary, a Th.M. from Fuller Seminary and a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Nebraska—Lincoln.  


He has authored over 20 books and 350 professional and popular articles, has spoken and provided professional training both nationally and internationally, including speaking to over 1,000,000 men in live venues for Promise Keepers.

 

Gary teaches, trains and consults with church and parachurch ministries, community organizations, corporations, seminaries, Christian colleges and universities both nationally and internationally to strengthen relationships.
