I finally felt led to invest some quality time in creating a unique 4-day “spiritual intensive” on HEALTHY AGING . . . not merely getting older & surviving but in growing wiser & actually experiencing God’s love & presence in some new ways . . . and becoming even more . . . uniquely impactful FOR Him and actually enjoying life . . . and others . . . and His peace & power presence in some new ways.
For over 20 years this is what the Going Deeper Together intensives have been all about . . . and this unique event will focus not merely informing but also equipping & encouraging the “older & more mature” men & women who attend.
Have you ever thought that age might merely be a number? Well . . . if you are still here . . . might it maybe be at all possible that your good & gracious & loving God isn’t quite done with you yet?
Might in some ways God have even more to offer you & enjoy than you ever have? There are 2 answers:
#1 NO . . . I can’t work much more OR travel as much OR sleep better OR . .
have more sex .
OR make any more money & I have much more uncertainty & concerns than ever
. . . OR . . .
#2 YES . . . with God’s help I just might be able to better understand life & the impact of my
goofy stuff & some of the way that the way too many mistakes that I’ve made &
the FACT that my loving & faithful & promise-keeping God may not be quite
done with me yet . . . and that He still really does DELIGHT in blessing his
people . . . including me.
The process of healthy aging is more than merely learning & doing more good stuff. It actually requires our better understanding and then our actually applying what He still has for us in this very unique chapter of our lives.
Most older folks don’t realize that they have more to offer than they ever have . . . and that’s a fact . . . really! Remember that IF you are still here . . . He isn’t done with you quite yet . . . God is NOT done with you yet.

WHO’S DOING IT?
Gary J. Oliver, Th.M., Ph.D. For several decades, a major part of Dr. Oliver’s ministry has been, in addition to being a theologian & clinical psychologist, to also train & encourage & equip pastors & ministry leaders and to provide training & resources to the larger Christian community, especially relating to spiritual growth & maturity & healthy relationship
WHERE IS IT AT?
This unique intensive will be held at Subiaco Abbey, a Benedictine community founded in 1878 and located in Central Arkansas.
We will be staying in the Coury Guest House which is adjacent to the St. Benedict Church. Our time will include opportunities to enjoy the sacred place as well as time to experience the peaceful beauty of the surrounding area, including a trip up to Mt. Magazine.
WHO CAN COME?
This intensive is for men or women over the age of 65. This is not a couple’s intensive, although couples can come.

Gary J. Oliver, Th.M., Ph.D., is a university & seminary professor, spiritual director, clinical
psychologist and therapist. Gary is a graduate of Talbot Seminary (M.Div.) and Fuller
Seminary (Th.M.), & University of Nebraska-Lincoln (M.A., Ph.D.). He has authored over
20 books and over 350 popular and professional articles, and presents his Emotional &
Relational Intelligence (ERI) and Growth-Focused Marriage Enrichment seminars in
churches and corporate settings both nationally & internationally. Dr. Oliver is also a
Benedictine Oblate of Subiaco Abbey in Subiaco, Arkansas.
